Shared Services Company Expo Event
I was the lead designer for a Shared Services Company Expo application, designing the entire experience from concept through execution. The event encouraged employees to visit different rooms, learn more about the teams within our department, and scan each team’s badge as they moved through the expo.
The application created an interactive way for employees to engage with the department while also giving teams greater visibility across the company. It was especially valuable for the UX team, which was still a newer group at the organization. The expo gave us an opportunity to showcase the projects we had worked on, explain the value of UX, and build awareness around how design was supporting the business.
In addition to designing the application, I created custom badges for each team, designed and printed posters, developed event flyers, and supported the marketing effort through email communications. This project combined UX design, visual design, branding, and internal marketing to create a more engaging and memorable employee experience.

Badge Activation Screens
Start by selecting one of the five team badges. Each badge represents a different team at the expo. After selecting a team, tap the Activate button and visit that team’s assigned room to scan the badge.
To make the experience more playful, we used a fidget spinner animation as the loading state, tying the digital experience to the fidget spinner swag we handed out at the event. Once a badge was successfully scanned, the spinner transformed into a colored team icon, giving users a clear visual confirmation that the badge had been activated.
As employees visited all five rooms, their badge collection filled in one by one. Once all five team badges were activated, the final screen revealed the unlocked reward: the Secret Key badge.
