XGate

XGate is a terminal access application designed to streamline how drivers move equipment in and out of the terminal. The experience supports key tasks such as entering equipment information, requesting DA driver assistance, scanning equipment with dynamically generated QR codes, and accessing credentials through Apple Wallet for a faster, more seamless check-in and check-out process.

As the lead UX designer, I focused on reducing friction in a time-sensitive, high-volume environment by creating a clearer, more intuitive driver experience. I designed workflows that gave drivers real-time visibility into wait times while requesting assistance, helping set expectations and reduce uncertainty during the process. I also worked on guided location features that mapped drivers to the correct destination within the terminal and walked them through each step so they could complete tasks with confidence and minimal confusion.

Working in Figma and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners, I helped shape an experience that connected operational needs with usability, making the process faster, clearer, and easier for drivers navigating complex terminal workflows.

Case Study Summary

XGate is a driver-facing terminal application built to improve the equipment check-in and check-out process. The platform enables drivers to submit equipment details, request DA driver support, scan in and out with QR codes, store credentials in Apple Wallet, view real-time wait times, and receive guided directions to the correct terminal location.

In my role, I focused on simplifying the end-to-end driver journey through clearer workflows, better visibility into operational status, and step-by-step guidance within the terminal environment. My work centered on making the experience more intuitive, reducing uncertainty at key moments, and ensuring drivers could move through the process as efficiently as possible. Through iterative design, stakeholder collaboration, and prototyping in Figma, I contributed to a more seamless and user-friendly operational experience.

Here’s an even more portfolio-style version with a cleaner, punchier tone:

XGate
XGate is a driver-facing application created to simplify terminal entry, exit, and equipment handling. Drivers use the platform to provide equipment details, request DA driver assistance, scan equipment in and out using QR codes, access credentials through Apple Wallet, view real-time wait times, and receive guidance to the correct terminal location.

As lead UX designer, I designed a more seamless end-to-end experience for drivers operating in a fast-paced terminal environment. My work focused on reducing friction, improving clarity, and guiding users through each step of the process with confidence. From real-time wait time visibility to location-based routing and step-by-step task guidance, I helped create a more intuitive experience that supported both user needs and operational efficiency.
